Sgt. Gilberto Lopez Sanchez was a 19-year-old Army medic in Korea in 1950 when he was killed during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir.
We are humbled and grateful to honor this young man's bravery and his family's sacrifice. We are forever in your debt. We placed 73 in-ground flags, one for each year since his death in defense of our country, as well as one of our living flower arrangements in his memory in front of Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in downtown New Braunfels.
