Fall Planting in the New Braunfels Area

Places like HEB and all the major "Box" Stores like Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowes have started putting out pansies, mums, snapdragons, etc... for our fall planting season. The only problem is, in Texas, it's NOT FALL!

We have a late summer. Our fall does not start until mid October. We are still in the high 90's for the rest of September and then the low 90's and high 80's through October. So cool your "Pumpkin Spice Jets" and enjoy your garden as it goes into a late summer flush.

As your summer garden starts to fade in October, begin changing out your bedding plants with cool season pansies, petunias, snapdragons, flowering kale, and sweet Alyssum, just to name a few of the wonderful "fall into winter" flowering plants.
